Verizon store says the phone IS on sale today. This may be a regional decision, so can't speak for other markets.

RJWindy -

do you know which store? i've been chomping at the bit and a sales associate at 209 S. LaSalle said to call back Monday.

by the by - she said the phone was "cute" - a scaled down version of the v710 - camera not so great but - and she offered this up - the earpiece volume is a HUGE improvement. got to go check this out - especially at the price...

thanks!

actually i just purchased it at the Michigan Ave. store. No rebate coupon yet, though.. probably next Friday when it's "supposed" to go on sale. The earpiece volume is better, but still not as good as my LG 7000, which is unfortunate, but hopefully it will be good enough.

How's the ear volume compared to the vx6100?

How's the speakerphone compared to the vx6100?

Is the internal screen any good since it is a CSTN and not a TFT?

The external screen is different when comparing the pics on Phonescoop with what's shown on Verizon... see link below... which is correct?

Can't compare it to the vx6100 because I haven't heard that one. It is, i think, slightly lower volume than the vx7000, which is good since the vx7000 is great! In my opinion the earpiece volume is slightly better than the v60 series. Haven't tried the speakerphone yet. As far as the screen, I'm the wrong guy to ask, since it's not a big deal for me. It is what it is, and as pictured. It has a black border, as opposed to the light-color border on phonescoop (that was probably a pre-Verizon mock up). The screen is good enough since I didn't buy the phone to display pics on it. I only need the camera for pics in a pinch (when it's the only camera I have), and in which case I'd be emailing them to display online and NOT on the phone. So...
