I spoke with a VZ tech rep. on the phone today and he assured me that this problem has been fixed. Just wondering this is true?

If it is, then mine will be fixed this afternoon when I go buyt the store. I got mine with the bug, and the flip is slightly loose when closed, wiggles slightly side to side. Anybody else have this problem? I am going to see about trading mine for a new one.

Nope, at least not the one that I got. I got a new one, and it has more than just the volume bug problem. Also has a choppy sound problem. happened on the 2nd call that I made...looks like I will be taking this one back for another new one...I love the phone, just not the bugs. I can deal with the volume, but not choppy signal. I will try it more time, then it back to the 'ol nokia 3589i

Did you try doing a *228 ?
This will update your phone with any new software that VZ has available. In speaking with the VZ rep. it sounded like he was aware of the problem but felt it had been cured.
I hope so I just ordered 2 phones yesterday.

This has to make me smile reading about this volume bug 🙂

My wife and I both have this phone and everytime she calls me I complain to her to please STOP talking with the phone away from her face when she starts a call! For all she knew she was actually doing it and she apologized! I just told her about the bug so we had a good laugh.

We can live with the problem, if they fix it great. But they are still pretty solid phones as far as I'm concerned.

*228 cannot fix a software problem such as this. The phone will have to be hooked up to a computer at the Verizon store once the fix comes out...if ever.

Yesterday, according to a spokesperson at LG, the volume bug has been fixed and the "patch" has been forwarded to Verizon for testing. A local store verizon tech confirmed that they did receive the "patch" and it is in testing but could not give me a date when it would be ready for the public. He mentioned that notification would take place by customers receiving a text message. I wouldn't hold my breath....guess just keep calling the store!

stick w/ the 3589i. it doesn't have all the extra nice features of the 6100 but reception wise, the LG can't compare.

When I spoke to a Verizon rep a few weeks ago, they told me LG was aware of the problem and working on a fix. They told me I would be notified by mail when the fix was available...would have to go to a Verizon store to get the update.

I have the volume bug problem on incoming calls too. I read this forum before I bought the phone so I was aware this would be a possibility. But I first bought the Moto v265 and absolutely hated that phone. I love the vx6100 outside of this problem.

Anyway, I'm located in Northern California and am on the America's Choice plan. I've asked the Verizon store if they've heard of this problem and they said no.

It takes 2 to 3 seconds to hear the incoming caller's voice full strength. Since most of the calls I get are from people in my phonebook, it's not a huge problem but I'd like it fixed. I thought I could solve the problem by just waiting to say 'hello' for 2 to 3 seconds, but no, the bug still happens whenever you first speak.
