Was sent thin round plug car charger - wrong one?

LetsTalk.com lists accessories for the LG VX 6100, and I ordered a car charger.

Every photo I've seen of car chargers for the 6100 including on Verizon's site shows the wide flat connector that fits into the bottom. Same type connector was shown on the LetsTalk.com site, saying fits VX 3200, 7000, "and" the 6100.

What just arrived is a car charge with a skinny round connector, not the wide flat one.

The box info says fits VX 3200, Audiovox 8900, 9900, various Kyocera etc.

Is this the totally wrong charger?

I checked my owners manual and all the stuff Verizon sent with the phone to see if any of the rubber plugged connection points at the top near the antenna might be an alternate charger jack, NOTHING in print clarifies what ...

That is the wrong charger--the charging port for the 6100 is on the bottom and is indeed rectangular. The Verizon part number for the appropriate vehicle charger is: LGVPC-2. That is the code under the UPC barcode on the back of the packaging for the vehicle charger I ordered from Verizon for the 6100.

Same exact thing happened to me. I was shocked when the wrong charger arrived in the mail! Then I got the 7000 manual online and looked at the accessories section. It does have two connectors for charging. So that rectangular one is compatible with the 6100, but the round one is not. When LetsTalk.com said they had a charger for 3200/6100/7000 and they had a picture of the correct connector, I thought they knew what they were doing. But obviously not! I called them to complain, and then I sent it back. I don't even want to try an exchange with them. I'm just going to fork over the $29.99 and buy one from Verizon.

That rubber plugged connection point at the top is a headset jack.

Thanks for the info everybody, looks like letstalk.com confused what the 6100 was compatible with, as the 7000 has multiple charging options but only the bottom wide one works with the 6100, I'll get with them for the swap.

Re: the rubber plugs up near the antenna at the top, I figured somewhere there had to be an external antenna connection, and the thing of it being a headset jack didn't seem quite right as there's on at the side without a rubber plug for the headset.

I took a strip of staples and fingernailed off a chunk of 3 staples and fashioned a very thin screwdriver out of them (bent it more flat), and slipped in and pulled the 3 rubber plugs.

The fatter round one is an external antenna connector. The two smaller teardrop s...

You're right about the headset jack... I must have been thinking about my a670 (which I exchanged for my 6100.)

You don't have to eat the return shipping. See the return info on their site:

"If the product(s) is defective upon arrival, or if there's any LetsTalk.com mis-shipment, we would be happy to send you, upon request, a prepaid shipping label to be used with your return."

I like the way they say, "upon request." They don't bother to offer you return shipping when they make a mistake unless you ask for it. At least they're prepared for "mis-shipments!"
