Missed Call Indicator 6100 vs. 9900

Because my phone is on my desk while I'm "running around" the office, I appreciate a missed call indicator that's easy to see and dependable (having problems with my 9900). Can someone who has this phone tell me a little about this feature on the 6100? Is there a flashing light? Can you see it on the display (for more than a few seconds?) Details appreciated. Thanks

The best part of the 6100 is that the outside LCD is always on! So, you can glance at it and see if you have a message waiting without opening the phone or pressing a button to illuminate the front LCD.
