You just need to have a .JPG or .GIF file with a size of 96 x 64 pixels (the size of the external screen), and copy it into "\Storage\My Documents\ExtLCD". Then go into Settings > Phone Settings, and scroll down to "Ext. LCD Background image" and you should be able to select it.

Can you set it up to change with the caller id, or would it just be the selected wallpaper?

🙂 I am still trying to figure out where to do the internal caller id... would you mind posting the path for me? Thanks in advance.

I'm not clear on what you are asking (where to do the internal caller id). Are you refering to using Pictures or Custom Ring tones with Caller ID? Or is caller ID not working at all for you?

sorry, I didn't make that clear at all... yes, caller ID is working, as well as custom ring tones. I have not figured out how to do the photos for caller ID on the internal or external display 😛 - thanks!

For some strange reason (ask Bill Gates), you have to go into the PhotoAlbum program to assign the photo contacts (rather than doing it from Contacts). After going into PhotoAlbum, select the photo that you wish to assign (at the 4 pictures screen), but don't open it. Then make the Menu selection "Attach to Contact" (you have to scroll down to see it). Next, the list of Contacts will open up and you can assign the photo to the contact that you select.

If the selection "Attach to Contact" is grayed out (in PhotoAlbum), that means it doesn't like something about the photo. Also, you may need to reboot after setting them up (it's been a while since I first did this, and I know it was quirky at first getting it going).

Sure it does.....just don't change the "style" of the external display, otherwise it (photo caller id) won't 😉
