I have loved this phone since the two days I owned it and then returned it. I am wanting it again, but not until it is healed. Can anyone tell me how much of the issues have been fixed? 🤭

As I mentioned in my note from a few days ago, I, too, got an MPx220 from Cingular recently (last Thursday, to be specific). The box had only an Orange sticker, but the firmware was v1.3. So far, all of the release software bugs seems to have been fixed. The ring, speaker and earpiece volumes are much better and photos, while not high-quality, are at least not bad with no bugs when a paired BT headset is on, etc... If the phone had been like this on the day of release, I would not have had to return it ... twice... ;-)

cingular has announced:

Please be advised the new Motorola MPX220 cannot send to an email address via SMS. Per Motorola “ this is a limitation of the Microsoft software, Motorola makes the hardware, but the user interface is Microsoft” Please be sure when proposing this handset the customer expectation is set.

haven't seen or heard of a fix for it yet, one of the reasons i won't be getting this phone.

As I mentioned in one of my posts a few days ago, you can easily configure the e-mail client in the phone to do pop/smtp e-mail whereby it receives mail from any of your pop accounts and sends via the "photos.mycingular.com" smtp server.

IMHO, this is far superior to using the SMS system, since you're charged for each SMS regardless of your data plan, but I'd presume that many Smartphone owners have a large data plan on their account to be able to use all of the cool "connected" abilities of the phone, and do e-mail via the built-in client uses the data plan.
