Any chance you'd be willing to post some pictures taken with the camera? I'm really interested to see if they fixed the problems with the "green halo" that reviews were mentioning.

i wanna know how these people can say * i have this phone and mention cingular in there statements as cingular is the carrier*.. ive spoke to cingular reps, ive called the 1800# no one has seen any info on this phone as of yet.. so explain to me how this phone is out for some and available with cingular as the carrier and cingular knows nothing.. no prices on the phone no stats on the phone they dont know anything.. to me it makes it sound like we have alot of posts on here trying to hard to get alittle extra attention.. real posts are here people .. not your fictional i dreamed its true posts.. people want real time info keep your dreamz to yourself..i realize that like everything else it will come out in different states at different ti...

Well I went to the cingular stores here in town (Northern California)when I saw it in the ad in Sundays paper and they had heard nothing about this. I went to Best Buy and they did have the phone via Cingular. If you would take the time to do a simple Google on the subject you would find that your previous posting was pretty ignorant.

ignorant no.. in my many conversations i was failed to get one piece of small but important info.. there is 4 regions and each region will get the phone at seperate times.. i didnt have that info.. best buy will have it for the first month exlusivly then cingular will have it after..i dont think most of us here on this post new it was region based if u did u would have stated that lol..

The definition of ignorant is - Unaware or uninformed. THAT WOULD BE YOU> All I am saying is that if you did an ounce of research before you flamed everyone who did know anything you wouldn't have been that. So you can be a simpleton and lol all you want but please dont abuse the information others offer here freely when you havent got a clue because you didn't do your homework. If you didn't have a piece of information it's because you didn't do your due diligence before flaming everyone. Get a clue cause your name should be thin skinned instead of white skinned

Cingular is a big company. It's very common for the field offices or "grunts" or phone support people to not know about the latest marketing deal that another part of the company has cooked up. It's amazing on the rare occasion when a large company rolls out a new product or deal and everybody in the company *does* know about it.

The MPx220's at Best Buy are preconfigured for Cingular right in the box. They're not locked to Cingular, but I've had to do a lot of spelunking through the settings to change Cingular bits like voicemail number to my service provider, TMobile. There's landmines all over in there. ;>

Got my MPx220 this afternoon in San Jose. woohoo!

Not having much luck getting the GPRS connection configured. The TMobile folks are very helpful, but completely clueless because this phone isn't in their Big Book of Support Call Answers.

Anybody got the TMobile GPRS configs for this phone? Or for Windows Mobile/Smartphone 2003 in general?

Here's the settings to get your MPX 220 working with Tmobile.
Go to the data connections option under "settings" and set up a GPRS connection as follows:
connects to: Wap network
access point: wap.voicestream.com
(all other fields are left blank)

Set up TWO proxy connections. The first is for web browsing. The second enables mms.

proxy 1
connects from: The internet
connects to: wap network
proxy: 216.155.165.050:9201
Type: wap
(all other fields left blank)

proxy 2
connects from: wap network
connects to: MMS network
proxy: 216.155.165.050:9201
type: wap
(all other fields left blank)

Now go into internet explorer on the phone and go to options and set the "select network" field to be Wap network.
You should now be ...

Great info! Thanks!

Setting the IP address to blank was the part that killed me. I borrowed some config info from a Nokia, which set the IP address. Whodathunk a blank IP address was required for TMobile?

Great info on the mms messaging too. Thanks!
