First of all this method has not been tried, but here is some goodies to chew on.
First as most of us know the sku is 170-1971
Today I ran the number into the inventory system and it shows that it went active 7/23/04
Under a product inventory search for my region it showed that none are in stock, but then I tried to see if it is available thru direct fuffilment. The computer indicated that it is in stock and available for sale through Gift Express.
So again, I have not tried it, but If you are in contract and will not be able to qualify for discounted pricing, you should be able to get it drop shipped for 519.99
If anyone tries this letme know how it works, I want this phone BAAAAD just as much as you all.

My store also go the HS810's in stock. I didn't know the sku went active though.

Ok.
Go down to your local RadioShack, make sure they are a corporate store NOT a dealer.
(Hint, the store number is 01-xxxx)
Tell them you you saw the SKU 17-1971, and you would like to order it direct to you.
If they say they can't go to another shack and try it again. Make sure they try to order it. If the system dissallows it, the screen will say CANNOT ALLOCATE MERCHANDISE, or SKU NOT AVAILABLE FOR SALE
If all goes well, you should have the phone shipped to your house via UPS Ground, DON'T UPGRADE THE SHIPPING.
You will need to pay in store, and you should get a receipt with an order number, keep this and call the 800 number listed tommorow to obtain a UPS tracking number.
