Has anyone loaded and tested this version of software? Is there any advantage compare to the v2.21f?

I'm the one who made the post yesterday about receiving version 3.0 via a Live Update. Based on the responses I got, it was clear that no one really believed me. I don't know what else I can tell you - I opened MPT yesteday, it wanted to do a live update, I let it do it, and ever since I've not been able to use MPT. The version number when I right-click on my MPT software icon and select "Properties" now CLEARLY says version 3.0.0.0. I know that sounds strange, particularly when everyone else still seems to be getting version 2.2f with the Live Updates. Don't ask me to explain it because I can't - I'm just reporting what happened to me.

I still haven't been able to get MPT to work. Sometimes it simply won't recognize the V710. Othe...

Wow, Talk about stupid. Thats not how you find out the version number smart one. Go to the menu, then help, then "About mobile phone tools....". 3.0.0.0 is the build version, not the SW version.

Gee, I guess I made a mistake. Stupid me. Phonephreak, you must be a real genius - as evidenced by the fact that you spend most of your life hanging around computer forums. Since you clearly have wonderful people skills, I'm sure you must be a great success in real life.

Yah, I tried it, if you have 2.21f and it's working, I haven't noticed anything other than the version number that is different. There is no new functionality for the V710 that I have found yet. The sync for phone contacts is a bit prettier (looks more like office 2003) but it looks like more of a "skin" upgrade than anything actually functional.

Trying to get a straight answer on this forum is nearly impossible! Here you go:

1) Yes I downloaded and tested it. On the first try, it only synced about half of my contacts and duplicated some of them (on both the phone and in Outlook). I cleaned that up and then re synced with no problem. It even got the categories correct. Calendar sync with Outlook was no problem, but I don't have any repeating meetings.

2) The only differences so far seem to be cosmetic. I use a USB cable so I could not test Bluetooth. Simple problems with version 2.21f persist. For example, if you open the phone book in MPT and display the categories for each contact, they are shown, but you can't sort on them on the mobile phone side of the address book.

3) ...
