Microswitch... What's it do?

Sponge

This is gonna keep me up at night wondering just what it does...

Grab ye olde v710 and pop the battery cover off and pull up the antenna, down at the bottom of the black tube (and hidden from rear-view by an extrusion on the case) from the side and look at the little switch that the antenna pushes when it is in the retracted position...

Any level 3 techs out there have any ideas/the answer? Bored kiosk employees are just dying (well, not dying but it can get pretty boring here, waving to the girl in the AT&T kiosk (who is disturbingly lonely since we moved in)) to know what this switch does...

my guess its a toggle so it knows when the antenna is down and when it is up.

It is posible that it could slightly increase the power of the transmiter, because when the anttena is up it can safely pump out more juice. If I'm board later I can posibly confirm it by reading through the FCC report on the testing of the phones output. till then thats my take on it.

P.S. the further the anttena is from the head the more output is alowed.
