its a beta pre-release from what i have read the real one comes out in Nov, this one yu can not update at all
...
but most if not all of the games are for java and as far as I understand the v710 is brew not java.

Has anyone used the software from this site yet? Looks like some good stuff, at least until VZW gives us the fully functional V710 we paid for.

I downloaded and installed the MPH 3.0 version from the site. It works, but not any differently that MPT 2.X. đĸ This version seems to be different only in appearance. The graphics are different and there are some other minor tweaks. Major missing item is the file transfer (Media Center).
I hope this is not all that is planned for MPT since the file transfer would be a big deal along with bluetooth. Since I only have a USB cable, I couldn't try the BT feature.

I downloaded Phone Tools 3.0 and tried to set it up with Bluetooth. It sits there saying initalizing. Is that normal until the firmware upgrade?

i don't have a cable, so all i tried was the mp3's,video clips,and backgrounds. the backgrounds are the coolest. đ hundreds of choices,takes about a second to download and dont take up much space on your phone. đ

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm new to phonescoop and I just got the V710 as a gift... A lot of this stuff is so foreign to me. Nonetheless here goes... is it possible to download backgrounds from the site minus cables and memory cards, etc.? I don't have those accessories. However if it is possible, could someone please give me a rundown of how to do it? THANX!!!

yes it is possible but you will need a translash memory card. you download them to your computer transfer them to the card,then put them in your phone. đ you can send them to your phone but i don't know how to do that.

do u need a usb cable to get the games on the phone or can u use the transgflash card.

Not only would the file be too big, but Verizon only allows a few file types. You can't send just any file.

Just got an account, downloaded all the tools, installed them and tried the game thing and they use this KJava File loader and the V710 doesn't seem to support this.
If anyone gets this to work, let us know, I'm going to bug some of my motorola employee friends to see if they know anything about this stuff.

When a company that uses java uses the phone, in theory there will be a flash that'll make it java not brew, but AFAIK cell1/verizon are the only 2 using it now..
