I love this phone.
I think you are approaching this issue from the wrong angle. It sounds like you are going to choose your provider based on which phone you decide on. I suspect most in the forums will agree, that is kind of a backwards approach. You really need to research the provider and the signal strength in the areas you will use and travel with the phone the most. Providers have differing levels of signal quality and strength in different areas.
After you choose a provider, the phone answer will be limited be the choices that provider offers.
As for the 710, I suggest you read the reviews (click the "reviews" tab at the top of this page). many people love the phone. Many others do not. The problems people have are somewhat refle...

IMHO, you're right, this phone looks great on paper but does not deliver the goods yet. I had one and returned it. It wasn't even worth the $149 I paid for it.
