Hi. I am most likely going to purchase this phone (if I choose VZW over ATTWS), but after reading reviews, this phone looks like it just...blows. After looking at all the features, this phone looks amazing, but is it really what it's hyped up to be? The phone looks great, too. Could someone please tell me if it is worth the money? I am deciding between VZW/Motorola v710 and ATTWS/Motorola v600. Any suggestions? Thanks. Please list all pros/cons you would like to, as these phones are expensive and I want to make the right choice.

After you have the phone you will realize that most people are crazy and $320 is alot to some people so they expect the phone to "hover in mid air and fill all there wildest dreams with technology from the future.

Most complaints are from people who are horribly misinformed.

I love this phone.

LvngLrg,
I think you are approaching this issue from the wrong angle. It sounds like you are going to choose your provider based on which phone you decide on. I suspect most in the forums will agree, that is kind of a backwards approach. You really need to research the provider and the signal strength in the areas you will use and travel with the phone the most. Providers have differing levels of signal quality and strength in different areas.

After you choose a provider, the phone answer will be limited be the choices that provider offers.

As for the 710, I suggest you read the reviews (click the "reviews" tab at the top of this page). many people love the phone. Many others do not. The problems people have are somewhat refle...

IMHO, you're right, this phone looks great on paper but does not deliver the goods yet. I had one and returned it. It wasn't even worth the $149 I paid for it.

Personally, I'd wait to see if the expected software update fixes many of the problems you've read about here. See http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/v710.ht ml and http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1639783, 00.asp for some pretty honest assessments.

The lack of volume in the ear...

are there any phones out/will soon be out that are similar to the v710/v600, but work. i have been considering the audiovox 8900, but i'm not very informed. I am making a switch to VZW soon, and desperately want a new, good phone (have had a nokia 5165 for three years now) any suggestions?

Personally i love the phone ,and all the things u can do with it. yea the phone has a couple of small problems but most people make them sound bigger then they are jus because the phone promised to be perfect when that was impossible to begin with. the phone still looks up to my expectations and if i was to get a phone wit cababilites like this, i would like to have this one ova the rest, o and the v710 is actually cheaper then the 600. wit a rebate the v710 is 249 while with a rebate the 600 is still like 300.
