I have been unable to get any tones to my phone via vzwpix.com or through any other email client so I resorted to contacting Verizon for help. Tech support said only via Get It Now is this possible. Said you guys are just saying you did it! LOL

So once and for all, can any one explain what I need to do to get tones to my phone. All I get is a text message that I have a a message at vzwpix.com and I need to go there to view.

I have two V710, one was able to receive ring tones and the other wasn’t. After some work it turned out the account wasn’t setup correctly on the second phone. You need to have a subscription to the pix messaging feature for 2.99 (I think that’s the price). I did, but the sales guy at the store didn’t set it up correctly on there computer. I call and told Verizon that I couldn’t send pix message (which was true), and they fixed it. Now I can receive and send, pix, and sound messages.

I don't pay for the pix msg. I just e-mail it to my phone at yourphone#@vzwpix.com Keep in mind, for some reason, if you're using AOL, you will not receive the file.

That is the problem! I have tried MSN, Yahoo, and the vzwpix.com and NONE work!

And no one here seems to be able assist me.

I've emailed several ring tones to my phone. I use DSL and Outlook. Make sure you have a message and a subject. I have had trouble getting "My Heart Will Go On" to my phone but everything else has been smooth as silk.

theres the problem. if you send crappy music like "my heart will go on", the v710 will reject it out of coolness. v710 wont accept that kind of sh&t, only cool sh$t.

That hurts 🙂
I wanted it for my wife's ring tone as she saw the movie about 20 times, has all the cd's, dvd's etc.
And just so you don't have to worry I only saw it once and the cd's are NEVER played while I'm around!
I can under that the standards of the V710 would not allow it to be used 🤣

Not that I did this or anything....but.
If you were to go to a wb site that is willing to sell ring tones and inside of picking the option to listen to the ring tone but right clicked and saved the file instead and changed the extension to .mid and then emailed it to yourself. That would be one way.
Or any of the websites like Walmart that have 30 sec samples of music in mp3 format....
Not that I would do anything like that, you know.

on vzwpix.com you can upload files but they give you a size limit.i have downloaded midi files from the internet that are under 10kbs and will upload.my v710 will playmp3 and midi files, but only mp3 files can be played through the mp3 player function.you can however upload a midi file to vzwpix.com then send the file to your phone.you will recieve a pix message and you can save the midi file on to the v710.so verizon LIED, they want you to use get it now and spend 1.99 but there are free midi files on the net you can download then send to your phone for 25 cents

OK I had the same problem and the Answer is EXTREMLY simple. See this is how the service works with VZW when you sign up they will set you phone up for calling services, but that is it, eather this is all they are trained too do, or they are told too do this. The reason is because when you the customer then trys to send a Txt Msg you find that you are not receiving them or can not send them. So you cal VZW and they tell you that you have to subscribe to a Text MSG PKG which is not true. Again they are eather told this or they are told to say this. First off Tex Mesg is cents to receve and 5 cents to send (Might be off a bit but about that) To send Pix/Music/ ect.. it is .25 cents and the solution is vary simple. Call VZW (use your Cel...

sorry you had such a hard time trying to send sounds.

I encourage customers to save a buck or two and demostrate how to send a sound back to yourself and save it as a ringtone. But, to be honest, if verizon wireless corp knew that this was going on, they probably get upset. Verizon wants you to use get it now and generate revenue for the company, and build more popularity for future "get it now" apps.

Then there should be an APp that lets you send MP3 tones to your phone threw Get it Now which to my Knowledge there is not. The Ringtone I have on my phone now are ten time better in sound then the Midi tones that come with the phone or that you can get from Get it Now. As much as I like the idea of saving a buck or three if GIN had this ability to send these kind of quality tones most people would probly use it,becuase most people would rather have to simple way raher then the loong way to do this.

They will tell you it's not possible most likely because they don't know that it is. I'm not sure wich VZW stores you've been shopping in but they'd be foolish to not sell you extra features because they get paid for that. Even a pay-per-use feature still gives them a little bit of kick-back and counts towards a feature quota. In all honesty if you use any of the features more than hardly ever, it would be to your benefit to pick up a package as the per feature use rate drastically drops.

If the main Q has not been answered yet, you can send tones right to your phone by emailing your phone at yournumber@vzwpix.com. You will have to have at least the pay-per-use picture msg feature enabled. Rename .mp3 to .mid and send using a yahoo accou...
