The verizon store i went to had the same problem. I went just a couple of days after it had been out and the keypad was just buckling right off the phone.
Those aren't full models though. They are functional dummy models, right?

I don't think these people would be concerned with stupid dummy models. Dummy models are about 1/3rd the weight of the real phones, made entirely of plastic, unlike the real phones and are a horrible way to sell phones if people want to test it out.

All well and good. But the fact you can't hear very well through the earpiece makes all of this moot. That slit/slot earpiece is an amazing design flaw by Moto!! Combined with the well-documented low volume problem it makes the phone a real loser. On a crowded street or with any noise you can't hear anything. And yes, I had the earpiece on the sweet spot. And no, I don't think the fact that the BT headset works well compensates for this. I don't want to walk around with or carry a h...

For the earpiece, yeah not a perfect design but it works.. with the volume up and it in the right spot (which you get use to very quickly, all phones have a sweet spot) it's plenty loud... granted, yeah I can't hear someone if there is more than 100 decibels of ambient noise but c'mon, what phone can you? And if it's REALLY that quiet, you either got a dud or you should consider a miracle-ear.
As far as the camera, before you b*tch email the pictures to yourself, I just did.. indoor picture, looks pretty stinking good for a PHONE. If you need better quality, buy a real came...

I simply wanted a phone that had a speakerphone, color screen, and a somewhat cool look to it. For a long time, I was looking at the Slider & was set on purchasing that. Then I started reading about this phone & slowly changed my mind. Even though the price tag was significantly higher than the Slider's, I was set on getting this phone since I'm such a gadget guy. The V710 had way too many features that I would never or rarely use (BT, camera, MP3 player, etc.). And after I was denied the phone at Radio Shack, I decided not to get this phone but to buy what I originall...

As for the theory of "Photos will never come from a phone"; i'd have to disagree. The first DC's were just as crappy as these photos, maybe a tad better. The reality is that this is the first generation of phones with cameras and video abilities.
Two years, and further, from now as cell phone technology advances i'd expect these features to be at what current DC's are at; around 3+ megapx. Storage will be over 1gb. Quality will be better. High speed connections (phone to wherever and vise versa) will be much better and more available...

AND, isn't LG coming out with a Bluetooth camera phoen with CCD? Sorry if the acronyms are wrong, but read somewhere on here that their phone is going to kick this one's ass, and actually have REAL quality!
What about the GSM SonyEricsson S710 thats coming out? I'm confident SonyEricsson's camera phone in Q4 will kick this phone's ass in almost everyway. Only reason I switches carriers was for bluetooth, and good camera phoen.
My other phone's display almost completely broke, and I've been waiting for 6 months. COuld...

An earlier post someone mentioned this phone used the inferior CMOS. I could be wrong though. It's only a matter of time until the technology makes it's way to cell phones on a regular basis.

the reason why the key pad bulges up in the middle is because of the security zip tie around the phone squeezing the sides of the phone making the keypad stand up a bit.
