Tungsten T and SMS/Tap Dial

I've been successful at setting up the Tungsten T and the V710 for a Dial Up connection. But I haven't been successful at SMS. When I attempt to do SMS from the Tungsten, a Bluetooth connection is established to the phone (I can hear the beep on the phone, indicating a connection is being made). However after sending the SMS message from the Tungsten, after a few seconds I get an error message: "Your phone was unable to handle your request, please make sure you are using the right phone driver.". I am using the TP280 driver, since there is no V710 driver yet.

Can anyone else tell me if you were successful at doing SMS and/or TapDial with your Tungsten?

I have not even beenm successful getting my T3 to dial out via bluetooth. I am using the TP280 driver as well and using the same number / username / password that works on my Mac when I dial out:

Username: ##########@vzx3g.com (replace # with your number)
Pass: vzw
Number: #777

I get a timeout error when connecting from the Palm but it works fine on the Mac. What are your settings?

I have the same problem with the T2, it does not dial out after connecting to the phone. I would like to use Quick Connect.

Will Palm have a driver for the V710 or is the 280i the only one that can be used.

Have been able to connect to the net with Palm Web Pro

Is there someplace to buy a driver so that my tungsten t3 will work as a dialer on my v710?

I found some info, although I can't remember where, probably hofo. Anyway this only works if your phone has been flashed with the new firmware.

1. Pair the palm to the v710 via bluetooth.
2. In preferences on the palm go to connections and create a new custom connection. Use the following settings for the connection:
-Connect to: Phone
-Via: Bluetooth
-Device: your v710
-Model: Standard GSM

Go to Details

-Speed: 115,200
-Init String: +MODE=2
Hit OK and Done until you get back to preferences.
3. Select phone and set Connection to the custom connection you just created above.

Make sure bluetooth is on and open the v710. Use the palm dialer to dial a number that you have nearby. The phone you call shoul...

You da MAN!

Thanks, for those instructions. That was the frustrating thing about owning a TT was the lack of tap dial capability.

Now if I could only figure out the EXPRESS NETWORK!

Thanks!

Yes where do you find the driver for a Palm Tungsten T and a Motorola v710? Is there a new firmware out that allows the two devices to properly comminicate to allow SMS capabilitys, like checking IM's on yahoo? I have a third party app called Causerie that I would like to use to do that. Or is there better third party apps out there?

Seriously need help! Can not get palm and cell to work together.
