I have new every 2 b/c I have been using this crap heap of a phone - T720 for about 2 1/2 years now.

With a one year contract I understand it is $319 minus $70 rebate which is the $249 RS price...but then if you have new every two do you also get a $100 credit off this price? So final price of $149? Can someone confirm this for me? I don't mind waiting 9 days to save $100, but my T720 is heading towards the garbage can very quickly...

You are correct, that is the way it works and that is the price.

But if you didn't like the 720, don't expect the 710 to be problem free either. It has many of the same features and made similarly.

With some of the "new" features, you can expect many updates on the software and some not to work as you would expect them to.

Here's the scoop -

New Every Two - Get $100 off a phone that you've had for 2 years or more, with the acceptance of another 2 year contract. This is IN ADDITION to any other promotions, not exclusive.

In the case of the V710...
$519 Retail
-$200 2 Year Contract Discount
-$70 Mail In Rebate
-$100 New Every 2
=$150.00 price to you.

New Every Two is officially NOT supported at Radio Shack. Most RS stores will not honor your additional $100 off, and therefore you'd get the phone for $250 after rebates.

The problem is that SOME Radio Shacks *do* seem to be honoring the NE2 promotion, and people are getting their extra discounts. I had the RS's in my area CALL both Verizon, their corporate Verizon rep, and their store regional ma...

Your math of $149 is almost certainly correct. But it is possible that the phone may be cheaper than $319. Many times RS is more expensive and there are a few times they are cheaper.

Before I deiced that when my NE2 is up and I was going to upgrade to a v710, I was going to get a LG phone. At Verizon this phone is $149.00 at RS it is $99.00.

Although 8/10 times Verizon's phones are the same price.

But it is possible that the phone could be $299 at Verizon.

And it is possible that RS will put the phone "on sale" for $299.
