Just curious if the bluetooth will work with the v710?

I had one in my hands today but Radioshack wouldn't honor my early upgrade, they called verizon for me but they said that I can only go to a verizon store to get my early upgrade.

Damn, I can't believe that ****. It seems like every radioshack store has their own rules. I guess I'll try again somewhere else. When you do your early upgrade do you have to increase your service to 49.99 or higher. Thanks for the info. I ran through the heat to the store on 44th and 6th avenue in NYC. I wouldn;t be surprised that phone RS are screwed up. The employees were playing with this one, seemed like the box was opened many times.

Don't get too excited about the Verizon version of the Motorola V710 with "bluetooth". Verizon tech support claims that so far only the wireless headset and "web connect" were supported so far. Since webconnect doesn't necessarily involved bluetooth, I'm not sure what this means.

Mac users in particular should be weary of Verizon and Motorola website promises, as the Motorola software fits only PC user equipment--according to Motorola. Smithmicro.com mentioned earlier reports that their 3rd party software won't support phonebook file transfers yet, so I'm still curious as to what bluetooth could mean.

My G4 powerbook, the intelligent being that it is, reports that the V710 exists, but isn't "serviceable". In other words, the V710 ...

Am I to believe that there is no way to transfer my Address book and Calendar to the V710 via Bluetooth?
Here I am about to get rid of my Kyocera7135 for the purpose of getting rid of wires.

I've heard that Motorola is coming out with a firmware update that will fix Bluetooth functionality sometime early September. With that the phone might be worth all the trouble?

Thanks for this bit of info.
I agree that it might be worth it; given all this hoopla about BlueTooth...Moreover, complete BlueTooth functionality could have been near the top of its delivery priority list. The Bluetooth is the main selling feature of this phone. Strangely enough!

If you want to dial out with the bluetooth connection to the cell phone... it should, I don't have a dial up account to try it, but my powerbook said it was available.

With my Sony Ericsson T637, I could use the bluetooth and sync my contacts and use the bluetooth file exchange. But this DOES NOT work with the V710. It's bluetooth only seems to allow dialing with the bluetooth connection and wireless headsets (and car links).
