Here is my take
I just went to the RS store on Flatbush and Nostrand Ave in Brooklyn NY. They were willing to order the phone no problem, however, as was clearly explained to me, they currently do not have the promotional pricing, or MIR, nor do they know when such information will be available. The options presented to me where, buy the phone now at full price, and there is 14 day grace period which would allow me to come back in and reclaim the lost money if the pricing structure was given to the RS within that 14 day period. If however, no such information came through, I would be out 600 bucks on the phone. Now my question to all is, what makes you so sure the phone and pricing structure will be in RS stores by the end of this week?

Its not that I want proof. But everystore I called in the Brooklyn area, said that they will only have the phone in 2 weeks. Not 2 days.
And none of them knew the pricing agreement. So unless all the stores here in Brooklyn are operating in some sort of a vacumn, then this phone is not coming out for at least another two weeks.

ok, i have been reading these posts and refused to write a post of my own due to the immaturity on this page... but i found out this info and thought it only right to share...
after calling motorola countless times, i was finally told that they do not have a definate release date but the guy told me that the estimated time they were given is the week of august 1st. Also, I called verizon wireless in NYC and i spoke to three different women who told me they had no info whatsoever on the phone, but then on my fourth try a very nice gentleman told me that they expect it to be released in stores the first week of august.
that's what i know... use the info well 🙂

I agree with the first week in August. I just got off the phone with RS and this woman told me that the RS promotion starts on the 2nd and not all stores will have received them by then. The phones were shipped today, now don't take this word for word. This is what I heard from the phone order person. Just though I would let you all know..

I think it's clear that VZW employees are strictly forbidden from telling anyone proprietary information -- including release dates.
Even our fellow forum members who are VZW employees are noticably quiet lately. Perhaps they have been warned not to give us any more information.
So, we really don't know that August 11th is the day. (I wish I knew someone who worked at VZW so that I could ask them privately what the date is ... but even then they probably wouldn't say.) It's clearly too dangerous for someone to post the information here. It would be too easy...
