I find it sad that Radio Shack seems much closer to selling this phone than the local Verizon store. I dont even see it on the website yet. What's wrong with this picture? Im still getting the stupid blank stare back at me when I go in and ask the Verizon rep about this phone. Would somebody please inform them the "the secret's" out.

Selling Power, radioshack has over 7000 stores and sells more phones then any other retailer. We buy them from Moto. Look at the big F up with the release of the 7000 on July 1...sortof. Its not the first time a launch date has been a blurry line of wtf's.

Hey Flyinace2000,
Is dealing with a Radio Shack rep any different than dealing with a Verizon rep when it comes to working with an existing account. I want to buy this phone but I am not quite at my official upgrade point (17 months on a 2 year contract). I have been told that I should be able to get an early upgrade if I sign a new 2 year contract and upgrade my service plan to a $59.99 (or more) plan. Is this something that a Radio Shack rep could manage?

Its an equip upgrd program based on the customers price plan. ex: 39.99 and higher they can upgrd 4 months from contract end date, 79.99 they can have 6mnths from equip contract end date.. Its only a limited time promotion. Cant combine that with New every two disco. That program you have to wait till you are 2 mnths from End Date.

RS store at Flatbush and Nostrand Ave in Brooklyn. If you doubt me, call and ask to speak to Richi, she is the assitant manager.
It is easy to doubt if you have a closed mind. The converse of that is that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, partly because you think you know everything and you stop listening, right some people out there.
Keep an open mind, and an attentive ear.

man, i called verizon yesterday to check on my NE2 credit. Which, by the way, expires 6 months after it is avaiable to you to use. I had to fuss a bit to get mine "turned back on". Anyway, they know the date its coming out. The guy alluded to a few things about that phone but he made it VERY clear that they cant say the date it will be for sale. Its soon though. You'll have this phone in the next two weeks.

Maybe they are all robots like Dick Clark? They are programmed (Read: Threatened with the loss of their employment) to never reveal secrets when told. Even in the face of people telling them what they already no! The conspiracy knows no bounds! ¬_¬

Realistically, RS is a seperate company that ordered the phones from Moto, but at the sametime they are a authorized retail center of Verizon. That means they still had to wait for "approval" to sell the phones under the VZW name. Once that came through, RS put their order through and they are sitting ready to be distributed and sold.

Of course, why VZW is sitting on their phones with this in mind is beyond me. As I had stated in an earlier thread, why let RS take the earnings that t...

Verizon's money maker, their "bread and butter" is the cellular service, not phones. So they may not really sweat too much about losing phone sales to RS. As long as those RS phones are using Verizon service.
