If you go to Motorola's website for the V710 phone and go to the link for the free Bluetooth headset for the first 710 people that register, you will see this...

Be one of the first 710 people to purchase a Motorola v710 handset and register your purchase online at http://www.motorola.com/shop/v710registration , after receiving official notification from Motorola that registration has begun, and receive a FREE Bluetooth® device of your choice: Motorola hands-free Bluetooth® headset HS810 (ARV $119.99) or Bluetooth® Portable Wireless Speaker HF800 (ARV $119.99). Offer expires July 10, 2004 or while the first 710 offer packages last.

So if the offer expires July 10, 2004 and the phone comes out in August 31, 2004, it looks like nobody...

LOL its not illegal. They have the right to discontinue or change any promotional offer. You'll find that listed in black print. This is the case with any promotional offer by any company. They have the full right to cancel or change their promotion. They could change that date anytime they wish. Its not a contract its a promotion in which they can realistically do whatever they care. They can't be sued but it can ruin there credibility and base customers if they change this promotion to less benefit the customer. You must have little or no background in common sense or the CJ system.

BMR12345 is right
Promotion is nothing but an invitation to buy their product. They can discontinue or change their promotion at anytime. It IS NOT A CONTRACT!!!

LOL
they could even release the phone at 11pm on the 10th and still get their 710 customers before the deadline with no problem.

If you read it the line says

"Offer expires July 10, 2004 or while the first 710 offer packages last"

there is an "or" the or is enough not to guarantee any date "or while the first 710 offer packages last".
