Zoom not working?

I just got this Motorola V710 phone, and I seem to be having trouble with the zoom while recording video. The zoom works in 'camera' mode, but in 'video' mode is insists on staying at 4x. Is it supposed to do that? The Verizon guy who sold me the phone was no help so I was wondering if someone here has run across the problem before?

Mine did the same but I have no idea how to fix it. I haven't played with it much lately. Although I did get a weird stare from some guy at the mall the other day when I was using it (maybe he was checking me out 😕). HAHA.

My digital camera has an option to record video and the zoom only works for still photography, not video.

Just to clarify, on my digital camera, when I go into the video mode I can zoom BEFORE I start recording, but as soon as I start recording, the zoom is not enabled.
