It can be done with Motorola Phone Tools and a USB cable.
The cable can be gotten off of eBay, but make sure it is an OEM cable since it works better.
Verizon also sells the full kit you need.

I bought the VZW kit and it did not really "sync" with outlook. Unless it has changed during the last year, it was a spreadsheet-like program that would import your outlook contacts and then sync from their software to your phone. Basically it was a two step sync via their software instead of a direct one click sync. Motoroal MPT is a true sync. After buying both and comparing, I returned the VZW. I had to "live-update" the MPT and it works nicely and provides an interface that looks exactly like the V710.
