Real Price

I hear all of these prospects about the price being about $350-450. Is this price the amount that you would have to pay if you got the phone without a contract? If not, how much would it cost with a 1 or 2 year contract. My contract has ended and I need to know if this phone is out of my price range. Thanks.

Does anyone know...

I currently have a 2 year contract that I signed up for about 1 year ago +/- with VZW when I got the T720.

Can I just upgrade to the V710. And, would it be possible to get the cheaper 2 year contract price?

Thanks for your help!

MarthaStewart, here's a response I got from Verizon regarding their upgrade policy.

If you have a one-year contract agreement you can upgrade equipment every 10 months at the one-year promotional price. If you have a two-year service agreement you can upgrade
equipment every 22 months at the two-year promotional price.

As a reminder, we do offer an early upgrade program for existing customers. Here is how the program works....

That is correct what Sam K has said ,to add, the $350-$450 price is probably with a 1 year agreement, but I only see it s $300-$400 with a 2 year agreement.

This phone will be very expensive, what most people do not understand is the fact that VZW is going to squeeze the most amount of money out of you as they can. If the start at say $300 with a 2 year agreement, then figure 15% of the people who want the phone will buy it, with the eligabiltiy of getting the free headset.

When the sales of it slow, after about a month, then the price will probably drop to a $225 layout, with a $50 rebate. And then the other say 75% that did not get it will buy it. Then that will be there for 5-6 months. After that, the price will drop to its ...

I agree with sportyross13's price estimate. I already mentioned this in a prior post but if you use the Motorola V600 as a reference, that phone is $300 with a new contract with ATTWS. Given that this phone has more features, I think it's going to be at least $350-400 with a 1 year contract and $300-350 with a 2 year contract. I looked at several phone prices (Motorola T730, Samsung SCH-A530s, LG VX4500, LG VX6000, Audiovox CDM8900) on Verizon Wireless' web site and the phone price is $50 cheaper if you get it with a 2 year contract instead of 1 year.

here's my idea, anyone think it will work?
i know that with pretty much all vzw equipt you can return it for a full refund like, within 15 days or something. i asked a cs rep a few weeks ago if i could retain my $100 NE2 if i returned a phone, to use it on another phone if i decided i didn't want that one, she said yes.

so, what if someone should buy the v710 when it first comes out at the full price less the NE2 discount, registers it for the free headset, then returns it, waits for the promotions to reduce the price of the v710, then uses the NE2 towards his new phone at the lower post-introductory price? think it'd fly?

I want to thank everyone for there help on this.

What's the deal with the free headset?

How do you get, is it just a mail in promotion once you get the V710? Anyone know what the market value of it is?

Thanks!

As long as your plan is 39.99 or more and you are under contract for 1 year or more you will be able to re-new your 2 year contract and get the v710 at promotinal price.

It's not 39.99 or more, it's 49.99 or more. I just posted the details of the upgrade policy in one of my earlier posts. It was copied directly from an email response I received from Verizon Wireless.
