Motorola V710
Waited till I finally got a v710
Well my NE2 started on June 13th so as an anxious phone user I needed to get a new phone . Going from a Vx6000 I wanted bluetooth. After spending several hours on phonescoop and Hofo and waiting for the E815 to arrive I decided to get the v710 and see what people were actually talking about. I got it for free since its 149-100(for NE2)-50 rebate. The phone is nice the screen is awesome the sound is loud and the camera sucks as everybody mentioned. I just don't understand why there is a static view when viewing through the camera its like watching bad TV with static. The manues are ok but going from LG where the phonebook for 1 person is simpler looking as opposed to having 3 different ones listed in a row in MOTO. The speakerphone rocks...

I'm going through your exact thought process in trying to decide between the V710 and the E815 (and maybe even the LG VX8100), but I have not yet purchased the V710 to try it out. I figured I'd wait until these other phones are released and then compare them all. I'm still troubled, though, by the fact that neither the E815 nor the VX8100 are trimode.

I usually buy when it first comes out like the vx6000 when it came out and the v60 when it came out for like 300$. I decided for now that free is better then $200 or whatever the price will be for the e815 whenever it comes out. I have 15 days from June 14th so I have till june 29th which is a wednesday. If the e815 comes around the type people are saying I will have a chance if not then I have to make a decision to keep the v710 or give it back and wait more till the e815 comes and use my vx6000. In the one day I have the v710 I have sent 10 pics and 2 sound files.

I don't think that there's a way to keep the light on between pictures. I not sure that it matters though because the light is virtually useless for taking pictures. On the bright side it is a nice flashlight!

Go to the E815 Forum and you can find several messages with links with pictures of the camera and also pictures taken with the E815.

You can change the phone book to display only the primary contact of the person. To call a different number, just press the directional pad sideways to view the different entries you have for that contact. This way you can have multiple numbers for each contact but only show one at a time for each contact.
To do this, go into your phone book, click on menu and then setup. In setup, change View to Primary Contacts.
