Motorola V710
MP3 Ringtone Question For Verizon Users
1.) Alright, with the MP3 ring tones, can you use your own MP3s on your PC or has Verizon modified the V710 to force you to pay for the tones. If so, that would be a big turn off to me.
2.) With the expandable memory SD card feature I can just store photos and MP3s on my phone through my computer since my laptop has a SD card reader. This would solve the hassle of having to email MP3's to my phone as I've read others do, is that correct?
Well I'd appreciate any help. I plan on purchasing this phone within the next week or two. I just wanted a couple things cleared up.
YOu can use your own mp3s.
You and use the sd card to store pics and tones, but the best way is to send them i do all the time. i just got the latest v710 version and there are no new blocks.
I noticed i could save tones to my card form the phone, but not from the phone to card. Not saying its impossible but i havent figured it out yet. But i can email the pics and tones.
check it out it sounds a little complicated but once you figure it out its the best.
1) "buy" yourself a copy of Acid Pro 4.0 it has a "chopper" function that lets you cut out the section of the song you want.no more than 30 seconds i recommend 25
2)also "Buy" yourself a copy of Sound Forge 6.0
what this does is it lets you convert the sound clip from stereo to mono, making the sound sharper and louder since your phone only has one speaker
3)when saving the files ,save them at 64kbs the files have to be under a certain size for the next step to work
4)once you have your file copy it to you trans flash ,go to your media folder through the phone and open the sounds ,highlight the ring...

That's a great work around! I'm going to attempt to seam edit the phone when my MPT 3.2 + cable comes in, but until then that's awesome. HAHA they pay people to work on a fix to stop us from doing that, and this fix is something anyone can do ahahehae.
Future reference, Audacity, available off download.com, is FREEWARE and you will like it much better than using two programs. It's absolutely free, and about 3mb. Intuitive as well.
