Ive just purchesed the motorola 710 fom verizon. ANOTHER CASE OF THE MAN* KEEPING US DOWN. Smart but cheesy is verizon making us use there servise to transport pics rather than releasing the software for us to download them like a digi cam to our pc directly.

I know there must be a way to do it. Can someone send me links of software i need or teach me how to directly download my pics to my pc. TY ralph

You need to purchase the Transflash Card and an SD card reader. I purchased both from Best Buy. TF card was $34.99 and the SD reader was $19.99. If you already have these let me know and I'll walk you through it step by step. You don't need to pay Verizon to transfer your pics to the PC with those two items.

That's all it takes. It appears in Explorer as just another drive or a memory stick -- if you are into using one of those gadgets!

Do you want a real good laugh? Walk into a Verizon store and ask any of the sales people or techs about the transflash card. Ask them if it is possible to transfer your pics to the computer without paying a fee and every one of them will act like they don't know what you are talking about. They will tell you that the only way to do it is if you pay for the service. Real honest people. RIGHT!!!!! 😁 😁 😁

Ummm...I guess...I walked into a VZW store in Lexington, VA and not only did they show me the TF cards they had, but the saleslady was all excited because she was getting a TF for her birthday to use in her V710!

I believe your experience at VZW is more closely related to WHERE you a...

Wouldn't advise throwing your 2 cents in as Verizon may just take it also.....

I really must agree with guitar_guy. And oh by the way, I live in the Boston area and have quite a number of Verizon stores in my area. Every one of those stores the people told me that the only way to get pics over was to pay for the service. The only tech out of everyone that I talked to knew about the TF card or excuse me, admitted the way the TF card works was because he had a v710. He also told me that all the employees are instructed not to mention the TF card and only sell the service to transfer pics. That girl could probably be thrown out of the store for telling you that.

It sounds to me like you were in a Verizon agent store and not a corporate store. Verizon corporate locations are not independently owned. The corporate locations do not want to discuss the transflash card. I have been in the Verizon agent locations and I do find them to be honest but their prices are higher and they do not offer the $100.00 credit for every two year phone upgrade.

I believe you are correct. It did seem to be more a "local" store than a corporate. 🙂

The key is to talk to an independent then buy from a dealer telling them what you are looking for not what THEY think you want. Most independents want there customers happy...well aleast I do...and they come back...
