The alltell v710 software is available @ howardforums, and corrects the BT headset problem and others. The software is 100% compatible with your v710s.. Here is a list in the changes:

1) Phone has option to ring when BT linked to headset.
2) Phone Has an "M" graphic for outer screen
3) MPT works over bluetooth
4) Picture gallery is a different format
5) Some people report that the outer CID picture is about 2x the size

currently in the works at hofo are an obex hack and possibility of java (apps & games) on the v710's "new" software, so you may not be stuck with brew forever 🙂

Think about it, full OBEX is not listed (which VZW has resisted), MPT over BT will make people happy even though it is slower and uses more battery, another external screen graphic will satisfy people complaining about the existing ones, no phone ring with BT connected cou...

I agree completely.

Another point is that if one installs any third party software (legitimate or hack) on any phone without going through there carrier somethings that can happen are:

If the software disables or disrupts the operation of the phone and if you have to take the phone to a technician you will, not could, but will loose your phone, and your account with your carrier will be closed. And a tech is going to know as soon as he looks at the phone. So think about that the next time you have to take your phone to your local dealer for a software or firmware update.

Future software or firmware may not work with the hack or third party software. If your lucky it will disable the hack. If your unlucky you will loose some functio...
