Everybody slow down & take a deep breath...getting worked up in a frenzy here. Big news has arrived:
I just spoke with VZW business customer service manager, and the new hardware corrected phones with the new firmware WILL be shipped out this Friday 10/29 to all stores; so it might take a day or two to arrive in stock locally. Let's not waste energy, it's only a couple days away, then we can make a determination what the best course of action will be.
Have 'they' listened to us? Yes. Will they deliver as originally promised? We're going to find out.

There is a ton of stuff going on at the HoFo forum. Apparently, there should be a firmware upgrade very soon. Someone actually has an uncrippled v710.

I just called a verizon customer support agent and they told me that the phones are on backorder and will be available in late november. 😕

yeah, cutomer service still has the late november.. I haven't heard this news yet officialy... so I"m not holding my breath....

we have abt 16,000 of these in the dist center but the're still on hold to make sure they pass QC; should be early next week.

A good report on this will be the only thing that salvages my service with Verizon.

Call me ignorant, but will we be able to just go in and get a swap? Or will they notify us of a recall? Will the new ones only be available to people still within the 15 day window?

Just go into a VZW Retail store to swap out. It's not truly a recall because not every phone is affected, so they haven't said how you will be notified......
It's for anyone who has the phone, 15 days or 15 weeks, months... you get it..
