Really bad. The phone and the rep

hope

So, I go into a Verizon store to see if what I read is true about this hand phone. I actually found a place that has the phone on display, and its powered up. (In SF.) So I go to open it, and the key pad is falling off! It looks like the skin of an orange pealing off. I go to the rep, and say this to him, and he says, "Oh its no big deal, you can glue it back on." HUH?! Not for a couple hundred $$$ I'm not. What is up with these people? I ask about the bluetooth, he says that its crippled to prevent theft. HUH? I decided not to ask what kind of theft he meant by it. Cingular might be the best bet for hi-end hand phones that are somewhat similar to hand phones used in Europe and Asia. I'm not too sure about Verizon anymore.

Hope,
Try reading the forum and maybe doing a search. There are over 540 pages of posts here and over 200 user reviews of the phone. You will have no difficulty getting an idea of the pros and cons of the phone simply by reading the user reviews (tab at top of page). You can sort them by date, etc.

The issues you are raising have been discussed to death - so much so that you have to go back a ways to find them.
The keypads on the display phones have problems due to the security strap that the stores use to prevent theft of the phone. Those straps press the sides of the phone in such a way as to loosen the keypads. They do not do this on their own and they do not need to be glued. Some users complained the keypads were a bit loose b...

The Good:

Great Phone Phone-- Great Reception
Mp3 Ringtones are nice-- Knight Rider 🙂
KeyPad is fine
Voice Dialing ROCKS
Although does not feel as sturdy as v60, i dropped my v710 twice and its ok except for some scratches
Can use transflash to xfer files and pictures

The Bad:
Bluetooth ☚ī¸
Volume ☚ī¸
Camera ☚ī¸
Self Scratching

Using bluetooth for my headset is great and I have high hopes that either a crack or official OBEX profile can be activated.

Verizon has to realize that v710 owners are a bit different than the standard. We demand functionality and flexibility. I want to sync with everything and maximize the use of the hardware I hold in my hand.

Conclusion: Although I think this is one of the best phones o...
