Switching storage device in Sounds freezes v710

I have the V710 and a 128 MB T-flash card from SanDisk. I've successfully copied a song (chain link.mp3) to the T-Flash card but I can not seem to copy anything in the other direction because every time I try to access the card from within the Sounds area of the phone, the phone freezes up and only responds to the end call button.

Someone with a simmilar experience please help me and tell me what I am doing wrong.

Is this possibly a defective T-Flash card / Phone?

Thanks.

I found out what the problem was and fixed it.

I'm using Mac OS X and learned by searching the fourm that people with Mac OS have been having problems with T-Flash and freezing of the phone when they are using a card reader to alter files on the T-Flash. It's because of some invisible files copied to the card by Mac OS that cause the v710 to have some kind of constpation.

There's a nifty little utility called iCleanup available here:

That takes care of these nuisance files. After I ran this program, my phone stopped freezing up.

Ive had the same problems and I use a PC. I am always getting errors about parameters being incorrect or something like that. Itll freeze when I try to view videos too. I also can format the card on the phone then put it back in the reader to my PC and itll still have file on there from before I formatted it and when I try to delete them, a yellow balloon will pop up from the taskbar saying delayed write failed or something like that. Anyone else having these problems? If so does anyone know how to fix it?... 😳

Guys,

Did you FORMAT your T-flash card inside the 710 before trying to copy files to it? Power the phone off, insert the card and do the following:

1. Power the phone on
2. Go to 'Phone Status'
3. Select 'Storage Devices'
4. Position the cursor over the 'Transflash" selection
5. Hit the middle menu key and choose 'Format'

This action will create the file system and folder hierchy on your T-flash card. Should work better now, and much faster.
