Ring Tones & Volume Help

Omahaboy20

Hi everyone! I just purchased a SCH-A670 phone from my local Verizon store. I like it very much but have ran into a problem with the volume of the tones.

I checked the settings and it says it is at the top volume (volume 5) and I can hardly hear the phone from the other side of the room. I was wondering if anyone else was running into this problem with the phone?

I was also wondering if there was any other company besides Modtones that you would recommend for real "standard" ringers. Modtones have a few but they are really bad.

If anyone might be able to help that would be awesome! Thank you so much and I will check back and see if anyone has posted or you can e-mail me at omahaboy20@hotmail.com

Thank you all!
John

Weird, as my ringtones are so loud, I had to turn down the rinnger volume to 3.

As for ringtones, you can use the vzpix.com site and upload a .mid file, then send it to yourself. I've done that with about 10 ringtones now and it works fine.

FYI, I tried sending a .wav file and it failed to open the msg.

Once you login to the vzwpix.com site, click on any of the 'folders' in the My Albums section.

Along the top you will see a link to 'Upload Files'....you will see it will allow 3 at a time.

Once uploaded each midi file will show a picture of a little speaker. Click on the midi you want to send to yourself and underneath it will have a red Send button. Then just enter your phone # (including area code) and you should recieve the msg shortly.

Then view the msg, and then use the left soft menu button to open the options. I think it's the 3 choice down, it will say 'Save Msg'. Scroll down to that, then press left or right to change it to 'Save Sound' or 'Save Picture' (which ever you have sent to yourself).

It will now be avail...

Wow this works great..

Can you send anything but Mid files ?

Would be nice if it converted MP3's ??

This is a great app..

Looks like verizon is finally letting you put in your own tones

So if you find midi files polyphonic ring tone, you can upload them to the verizon site and then send to your phone...correct...does anyone know where to find midi ringtones that are not SONGS!....say...loud modern sounding ringers or a voice ringer that says something like "incoming call."??? Thanks

I just purchaced my SCH-A670 today from verizon and I'm trying to send a midi file to myself as described above. The problem that I have is that I never actually receive any pix message on my phone.😢 I've tried several times with several different midis following the exact steps and I've ensured that I am sending it to the right phone#@vzwpix.com, but still get nothing. The midi I'm trying to send is only 15K... well below the 358K max that the site has.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or does anyone have any tips as to what I could be doing wrong?

Maybe worth noting: When I preview the messages, I only get about 4 seconds of midi playback then it cuts off. When I play the midi from my Inbox (where the file was uploaded to),...

It takes a little while for the pix messaging to be turned on. I tried it the first day and got nothing. Tried 2 days later and now everything works.

Wait a day or 2 and try again, if it dosen't work then call *611 and tell them to make sure picture messaging is turned on for your phone.

Thanks for the reply LordJezo. As you suggested, my pix messages did start working a couple days after it was activated 😁

I've read this post and I now understand how to get ringtones on to the phone. However my question is about cost. Does Verizon charge you 25 cents each time you send a tone to your phone from the vzwpix site? I think they charge you for each pic you send...or do you only get charged when you send a pic FROM your phone rather than TO your phone???
