Has anyone gone hands on with this phone to know whether it has the same optical trackpad that was so horrible in the original version, or have they scrapped that and gone with plain buttons for up, down, left, right?

I have had the Pantech Jest 2 for 2 days now. I'm not familiar with the original product, so I don't know what the optical trackpad is. This version has the usual up/down/right/left capabilites, located on a circular button as most non-touch screen phones have. I haven't had any issues with it.
