Please enlighten me: Multitasking

Ok, as a long time iphone owner, I was excited to hear the multitasking was coming to the iphone... but how?

For example, I use the AOL Radio to listen to some sports talk on the train on my way into work - so I was streaming / listening to the radio, then I double tap to get the Apps slidebar menu at the bottom - but as soon as I try to go to another app (Calendar, Safari, etc...) it cuts off my radio feed... WTF? Isn't this the point of "multi-tasking"?

If not, what is it even used for? Please tell me I am doing something wrong! thanks

It is my understanding that apps that have not been updated for the 4.0 os will not work correctly with the multi-tasking. For example. I have had certain app updates that say they are integrated for 4.0 os. Those apps work with the multi-tasking and when switching back and forth, you are right back where you left off. I am assuming your AOL Radio has yet to be updated, but once it has been, it will continue playing when switching between apps. Just my thought though. Don't know for sure.

Cool this is good to know! Hopefully this is the problem as I'm sure these apps will be updated to be compatible for multitasking.

I actually just went to the app store on my 3gs and had 10 apps with updates. Probably 8 of the 10 said the updates were for the 4.0 os and multitasking.
