HTC Hero (CDMA)
Thinking about a Hero...have a question...
My Samsung m520 finally bit the dust yesterday, so I'm looking for a phone. I test-drove a Moment (because I've been very happy with Samsung in the past) but I was extremely disappointed. Sure, it was great for a little computer that fits in my purse, but for a phone it was lacking so I took it back. The ONE THING I did like about the phone was the proximity sensor on the touch screen...I did not accidentally hang up on anyone with my cheek like my husband has done with his Hero.
My question is: did the Eclair update for the Hero include some kind of fix for that? I know I could probably get used to a) holding the phone away from my face while I'm using it (provided I don't have to use my shoulder to prop it) or b) only using the ph...

The update didn't come with a fix that I've noticed. I've had the phone since day one when it was released and I have not once hung up on anybody. I love the phone and the only problem I have is with the battery life. And there are ways to increse that so have no worries. You will love the phone after you get it 😁

Sure.I bought the phone right after it came out at a Sprint store for the 279.99 and I did get my mail in rebate. Now the price is only 79.99 so it is so worth it. 😁
