Duplicate E-mails and E-mail deletes

Heymjo

I use AOL for my regular E-mail and have it forwarded to my Droid automatically. However, I find that I end up getting duplicate E-mails of every one sent to my AOL account on my Droid, as if one comes from AOL and the other comes from
g-mail even though only one was sent to AOL. How can I stop this from happening? Also, when I delete my E-mail on my Droid, it also deletes it from my AOL account. Instead of sending it to the "saved" bin, it goes into "Trash." Is there a way to make deleted mail on my Droid get saved an the "saved" bin on AOL so I don't lose it? Thank you.

Why don't you guys just use gmail as your only account on the device? Its so much easier. You can set up your gmail to pull emails from other accounts, and it can also label those emails "AOL" or whatever you want. It will also let you reply with the address the email was sent to, from within gmail. Cuts down on multiple account headaches a LOT.

Thanks Gun I love that idea. Would you be willing to describe how to do that? And you're saying that even though I use a different email account, email addressed to that account can still be receive ed and checked using gmail?

when you set up the gmail account, you need to go into the settings, where you will find a tab at the top that will say accounts & importing.. this is were you would import you accounts, (bare in mind this can only be done with accounts that are pop3). i have this set up for hotmail, live, and a corp... yahoo (unless the paid ver. and another gmail will not work) aol is a pop3 so this will be an effective way... gmail is a push technology for the droid so it will check you email and the push it to your phone quickly.

I saw accounts and syncing, not importing. Im still getting double notifications on my Aim acct, which i have set as default and to check for email every 5 mins, and i have set the gmail to never check for emails. when i get a notification it says its for my aim acct. im just wondering why a second notification comes to that accout(no email there when i check)a few mins later.

Menno or mupi, can one of you guys help out with this, and give a tutorial on importing email accounts into Gmail? I set mine up a long time ago, and have since broken my laptop screen, so I don't have a way to access the full "desktop" Gmail to give instructions. I ask you guys because I know you're both as detail-oriented as I am 🙂

Thanks!
