wow what a dissapointment.i ddidmanual push download that was recommended in my other thread and what is this like half the update or something? i was told we'd get more homescreens, and theres still only 3, theres no text to voice like i was told directly from verizon, also there was suppossed to be a 3d view for the apps, that didn't happen, and i was also told there was another screen landscape when the phone is in my docking station, no go again. Yaknow people for this hype about the update and all the setbacks, this update totally sucked and is virtually useless all i got out of it was some stupid moving wall papers, a news widget, and a different gallery view. man this just gets worse with this phone, i was really looking foward to the...

If you want more home screens, get Helix Launcher (but not Helix Launcher2). Or PandaHome. they are both free. Or pay for aHome or OpenDesktop. The latter 3 all support themes. Pandahome supports animated wallpapers other than the "live" wallpapers (like setting a slideshow background). Although the new Pandahome2 doesn't appear to have that. (On the other hand, it has some other cool features...) I can't speak to the others, since I haven't used them, but I'm pretty sure aHome has a demo version.

I run pandahome on 5 scr...

-They never said you were getting new homescreens. Homescreens are decided by the handset maker, NOT the OS. If you need more, get Helixlauncher
-Voice to text is there, and works great. as confirmed by dozens of posts online. You see that little mic on your virtual keyboard? you press that and then talk, you can't just shout at your phone without touching it.
-The 3d view for apps was NEVER part of the 2.1 update. it is a special UI for the NexusOne.
-The new screen is nothing important. I have it on my rooted version of 2.1. it's not nice but not earth shattering.

2.1 and 2.0 ARE THE SAME OS. they are based on the same Kernal. there WON'T be major updates. this is like you getting Service pack 1 for windowsxp. at the end ...

no they didn't. a rep might've said those things to you, but they also apparently "told" you the droid was never getting 2.1

so either you ARE making it up, or they are lying to you

Yes, yes you are. the verizon website NEVER listed more homescreens, a "cool new clock" or a 3d app launcher
