battery time

I had my Droid in my bag all day, it was on but resting. I did not use it all day and it had charged all night the evening before. When I tried to use it at 6:30 pm, the battery was nearly dead. This is a dead battery from zero usage. what killed the battery? I know the bluetooth and wifi were turned on, does that kill the battery, even in sleep mode?

Thanks,
Joey

What other apps are running like weather, news, stocks, GPS, etc. Anything that is getting info, being updated, searching the network.

I am not sure what apps are running. When I look to see what is using the battery, it is the phone itself. When I turn on the task killer, it looks like almost all of my apps are running. I think I will kill this Locale app unless I specifically need it. The apps seem to turn each other on (nothing sexual of course). 🙂

I believe it also turns on and off WiFi (or is capable of it, other apps, which will then consume processor time (and thus battery), and so on. It *IS* a pretty neat program, and useful, if you need that sort of thing, but if you don't really NEED it probably isn't really worth it.

On mine, I turn off GPS location and WiFi in the preferences. WiFi is easy to turn on again with the "Wifi OnOff" widget. GPS can be hit from t...

THanks, I am beginning to find all of that out. I have done exactly as you suggested, including the wifi on/off app.
Thx,

If you are using Lookout, note that the latest update kills the battery very fast. I don't know if that has been fixed since the last update last week, but I removed it and problem fixed. Others have also noted this.
