Motorola Droid
The Droid or the BB Storm 2?
I really want the storm 2 but am concerned about the ONLY touch screen phone. Now, I see the droid and it has the keyboard much like my voyager did. Maybe something I should consider..

Another difference is Tethering.
Storm 2 does

You also have to have a Gmail account to get to the app center on the phone. Its not a big deal since the person selling it to you should set one up for you.
The other difference is that Im not a fan of the keyboard of the Motorola version. I think it could have been designed a little better (similar to the voyager or EnV Touch) and Im not a fan of only having 3 screens (Motoroal version)
I like the Eris better. It has 7 screens. It seems to load web pages and has 0 rendering that I could tell. Its also seems faster and more responsive to me.
Its also less expensive (which is a plus)

Nope. Most apps are going to be OTA. Same with synching. The back end support is handled by GMAIL. It will back all your phone data and apps up on there.
I wouldnt mind seeing a manual sync option for it (in case the GMAIL server falls apart one day)
But I like the convenience of a wireless backup and sync option

The Droid absolutely will have a PC sync out of the box. It is a microsoft activesync program. Sync all ya want from what I understand.

I just read that the Droid does have Tethering.
Also, there has been cases in the past where phonescoop says phones don't sync to pc, but they do. I can't remember which ones I came across off the top of my head, but I remember they did and ps said they didn't

I'm in the same boat. I can't decide between the Storm 2 or Droid. I use my phone a lot for the internet and listening to music and watching music videos, but I use my phone for work (emails) and I'm a texting junkie.
The two reasons why I am hesitant to get the storm are:
BB Messenger - Giving that up will be difficult because many of my friends and family and coworkers have Blackberries and that's the best way (and cheapest) way to communicate with them.
Motorola Q - Back in the day I had several motorola phones and I swore them off after the Motorola Q fiasco. That phone was just horrible. Can I trust that Motorola got it right this time?

I know what you mean about the BB messenger. I just set it up with my wife and friends and LOVE it. I also like the new v.5 updates with status alerts and typing notifications.
So far I havent found anything similar to that on the Droid but its still young. Other then that this phone has just as many features as the BB plus some.
I would say get one in your hands so that you can see the difference and read all the reviews on it for the web browser and meadia centers....
Oh and it has a 5 megapixel camera!!!

I have the Storm 1 and I was going to get the storm 2, but in my opinion the Storm 2 doesn't have enough added features to be called an Upgrade. They put stuff on the phone that should have been on it in the first place. So that made me lean 2 the Droid.
I use google, and it supports Google sync. I have gmail and everything so that is not a problem for me.
The Droid has enough features that I consider it an upgrade from even the Storm 2 that just came out.
