Seriously...
Editing word documents just isn't something the iPhone can do...period. I love my iPhone, but that is a function it cannot perform.

Buy a laptop. Most people don't do any serious document editing or creating on device this small anyway. I have tried this on both Blackberry (miserable experience) and WinMo (less miserable but still miserable) and it's all but useless. True business people carry laptops, even ultra-portables, and would never try serious editing from a mobile phone. The viewing of these docs are second to none on the iPhone though.
Good advice. After owning two phones (a Treo and yes, the much hated Storm) that are capable of editing documents I found it very difficult to edit anyway!
