conference calling - 3 way not working

has anyone one else had this problem yet? I can have a call on hold and one that I'm talking to but when i hit the merger button nothing. I can swap calls but now merge. also found our that apple charges 30 bucks for a loaner phone if you don't live close to a apple store which is pretty crappy.

My brother had the same problem and found out that AT&T forgot to activate 3-way calling. Its that simple.
