Muffled Sound Quality between E and G?

I got a BJ2 about 2 weeks ago. Love it for the most part. But people complained that sometimes my voice would be so muffled they couldn't understand me.

I switched units, same problem.

My razr got perfect signal. In fact, my BJ2 gets 4-5 bars throughout my house, including "trouble" areas. The only thing I can see is that it switches very frequently between edge and 3G, and wonder if the quality of voice goes down with the shift in data?

Anyone else have this issue? Or have any ideas on how to resolve it?

Rep suggested changing the sim card, but I don't see how that can fix it.. would it?

well first of all, "E" stands for the edge network, "G" stands for the gsm network, the only time your phone is actually in 3G is when the signal icon says "3G"...but as for muffled quality i havent heard any complaints about it
