What is it and how do I keep it from installing when I receive my phone?

To do a soft reset, you take your stylus and insert it in the small hole located at the bottom of the phone...Hope that helps... 🙂

best way i find to do it is, go to start, settings, click system on the bottom and click clear storage, this will reset the phone to the way it was shipped to you, go thru the set up process and when you get to the part where it says software install in 3 seconds (or something like that) then stick the stylus in the reset button, no bloatware. Granted doing this this wipes the memory of the phone, so whatever you have back it up with snyc. Then you'll just have to reistall whatever extra programs you had on it.
