Who's ordering on line tomorrow and who's waiting?

I can't decide . I was going to get the LG Chocolate 8550 and try that for a week before deciding on the v9m for Verizon. I thought that maybe some feedback would come in within that week. ANyone think that might be a good idea? The verizon pricing seems to be all over the place and I'm not exactly sure which price to believe. HOWEVER, I'm thinking that if the Verizon price has the instant rebate on line, that might seal the deal. Any thoughts?

When does it come up online (it's not on testman yet)? Exactly midnight perhaps?

Funny, but that was my exact thought. I am itching to get out of my thick 8300. I do want something that will be multimedia centric. A couple of months back I tried out the 9400 and 8700 from LG and was not satisfied with the battery life in comparison with my 8300. So, I am hoping that one of the new releases surprise me and provide more than one day of battery. I am also really interested in the ROKR V6m but have yet to hear of a release date. The only fear I have with buying the 8550 is that if I don't like it and the reviews are crappy for the RAZR then I will be stuck scrambling to find something else. Only 16 hours left to decide 😳 let me know what you end up doing?!

I'll but up till midnight waiting on it. I'm soooo tired of my E815 and it's dieing a little more everyday. I hope I'll be happy with the V9M because the phones coming out soon don't look any more impressive. Good luck!

I think I'm just going to order online tonight at midnight since the rebate is instant. I don't want to put out too much money for this plus I'm on the new every two where I still get $100 off! I've just always wanted a razr and my brother has the original and my sister has the krzr . No problems whatsoever from them!

What is the exact pricing? There have been so many different theories. I know that at first Verizon had it for more than Sprint but then I heard they reduced it by $50. SO, bottom line if I order it on line, it's going to cost me???

Hammey22--I am worried that the lg 8550 will be too young looking for me! It just reminds me more of something a teenager would carry which I am not! 😁

You know I agree with you regarding the 8550. I am so on fence between a cell and a smartphone. The nice thing with the RAZR is that there is an email client and there is a decent on-board memory of 65meg so you can add some applications to make it more business user friendly so you are probably right about the 8550.

I called Verizon's CS this morning because my NE2 online wasn't showing up. I just wanted them to fix it for tomorrow so I could order the V9m. Long story, made short, I ordered the phone. The CS told me it would be here in 2 days. He charged me $158.99 total (using my NE2 and rebate....BTW, he offered me a $50 rebate at first, I said NOOOOOOOO....everyone says there will be a $100 and he said OK..he could do that?????????) with a 2 year contract. If you want it.....call! 😉

I was just curious, who did you talk to at Verizon? I just tried calling and they told me that it couldn't even be ordered until tomorrow...I'd like to get the $100 rebate also 🙂

🤭 It was a guy but I honestly didn't pay attention to his name because I wasn't planning on ordering the phone. I just wanted my account straightened out. Hmmmm.....I did get an order number so I HOPE it isn't a "phantom" order.....

I don't know how you did it but I just spent 30 minutes on the phone w/ verizon trying to get a rebate w/ this phone. I am up for a new phone w/ my NE2 and the guy said there were no rebates. I told him that someone actually received a $100 rebate today when they called. I also showed him and his manager the verizon press release w/ the 50 dollar rebate. They told me there system has no record of the rebate and when they tried to add one to the phone, the system wouldn't let them. Do you have any way of verifying that you received the $100 rebate so the rest of us don't have to spend a fortune? Thanks!

All I can tell you is that the CS rep told me my total was $158.99. He said he didn't charge me shipping because they don't charge it online. I wonder if my additional $50 was like a 'good customer' type thing????

I just ordered the phone from the vzw site and paid the full retail of 469.99.... I'm not up for any renewal of sorts, but just upgrading. Whats this about the rebate? Did I pay an extra $100 or am I just not eligible? Please reply quickly, I want to cancel if it means 100 dollars.

The $100 rebate is only on 1-year and 2-year contracts.
They do not do the $100 rebate when paying full retail.

Wow that is a lot to pay for the phone. For that price I'd rather get the LG shine. I have been with Verizon for years, but am getting a little tired of the way they cripple their phones. I was considering switching to Tmobile, and getting an unlocked GSM phone like the Shine. But I have been waiting for the Razr 2 and want to at least play around with it before I make a decision.

But I called Verizon yesterday and their computer systems are so lame. I returned my Samsung U740 at a store earlier this month, and the store reverted my contract date back to May 2007 which was correct. But the rep on the phone said they cannot do an upgrade online because the store backdated my contract because they show a date of May 2009 and they cann...

Thats funny because I just checked when I would be eligible for NE2 and it said June 2009 too. I'm actually supposed to be up for renewal in about a month.... I guess I'm going to have to call them about that too. How typical.

I know I was so irritated with Verizon!

Did you do an upgrade before and return the phone also? If so, that is the problem. Apparently now I know that if I return a phone, I should NOT ask the store rep to revert my contract date. Instead, I need to call cust service and have them do it. Their computer system is lame.

The rep did call me back today, and I know he was trying his best, but he told me that he contacted the store and the manager would be willing to upgrade me to the Razr 2. I said well that defeats the purpose, hello the phone is not in stores until Tuesday! He said Ohhhh sorry, and had me on hold forever. Finally he tells me that they could do an override, but they have to fill out some paperwork and it wouldn't ...

Well, I didn't upgrade technically but rather bought a MaxxVE outright for full retail and I returned it before the thirty days, thus getting my money back. I guess I'm not as concerned as you to get it fixed right away; I had to buy the RAZR2 outright anyway. The funny thing is that I didn't use my contract renewal to get the Maxx in the first place, so I have no idea how the renewal date on my plan got changed anyway- I made no changes to my plan at the time. I'm planning on possibly returning it before the thirty days is up and turn around and get it again when I renew my contract.... I'm not entirely sure if that's possible or not but I haven't read anything to the contrary. I guess it's my little way of sticking it to Verizon for their ...

Yea their computer system are wack. I don't know how your renewal date got changed in the first place. I hate dealing with reps in the stores--they don't know what they're doing.

If I were you, I'd straighten out the renewal date issue first with cust service before you return the phone. I suppose you bought the Razr 2 just to try it out, and if you like it, you will then return it and do the upgrade to renew your contract? If you plan to extend your contract anyways, you could first call cust service and have them extend you contract for 1 year and they will give you a one month service credit. Then when you upgrade your phone, they will extend it another year on top of that (2 yrs total).

Just an idea. I just posted a link to an...
