CDMA vs. GSM Versions

To start it off I've never been a Motorola fan regarding cell phones. I just don't think they are well made. Just my opinion, u can agree or disagree. To each their own.

Anyway I just don't understand why the CDMA version of this phone has 65k color screens and GSM has 260K......Once again Verizon gets a bootleg version of a phone. Also I think the red color (AT&T version) looks the best.

What do you think?

Yes. Exactly right! Poor Verizon.

Except for those stuck in a region where unfortunately Verizon is the only choice... I feel bad for folks that are "unknowing" about the real differences between VZW and and the rest.

I was with VZW for years but once they jumped into the multimedia phone world in '05 and started offering all their "bootleg" disabled phones that still had the CDMA network drawbacks such as voice distortion, that horrible walkie-talkie delay forcing me to always want to say "OVER"... I had enough.

Can you all imagine what VZW will do when/if they ever get their hands on the iPhone.
"That'll be .80 cents just to turn it on, please!"

".25 cents every time you activate widescreen mode by turning it sideways'!

GSM IS just plain better.

When I purchase a $400.00 phone, it's mine, not theirs.
I should be able to use any and all features that phone was designed with.

Those b@st@rds are the greediest company I've ever dealt with in my adult life regarding such an expensive gadget.
... they're even the hardest to get out of if it's not working out for you.
Ask any one working in the cell world... VZW IS the greediest PERIOD!!!

I don't disagree with u guys at all on how Greedy Verizon is. I been wanting to get a new phone for over year and a half now but most of Verizon's phone suck because they are crippled. Atleast with the SCH-A950 I have... I can make my own ringtones for free. Can't even do that with the new Verizon phones. But I get good coverage with Verizon( NY area). I tried Cingular and T-Mobile 2 years ago and their signal was horrible. Maybe its gotten better now. Which one do u guys recommend?

Left VZW afterseven years of 1 maybe 2 bars service.

AT&T now -- always full bars, everywhere, all the time.

Seattle area.

I have been with Verizon about 6 years and I have always had great coverage and they have excellent customer service. But my contract came up recently and with this new Razr 2, I am seriously considering leaving Verizon to go with another provider that doesn't cripple their phones. I live in Los Angeles area, and have some friends that tell me Tmobile is good. I am also considering At&t. I don't know what to do! Anyone have any suggestions? Is the Tmobile V8 version or the At&t V9 version better? Or should I just give in and stick with Verizon? Ugh!!
