All things are pointing to the RAZR2 being available the week of August 20th. However, ANYTHING can happen. If I were you, I'd return the phone for safety's sake.

I can't believe this has gone this far without someone speaking up. The planned ship acceptance has been Aug. 6 for some time now. The software has been signed off on since late June. Using past phones as an example, once ship acceptance is reached the phone appears online within 1 - 2 weeks if Verizon is in a hurry to release the phone. Some phones such as the a840 reached ship acceptance and wasn't released for another 3 months.

Right afterwards, this was posted:

I noticed the pic also shows the Moto Rokr Z6TV coming out late Aug. Should we expect both the Razr2 and Rokr to be out at the same time? If so, I am going to have a hard time deciding, especially if the Rokr will have TV service.

It's up to you whether you want to return the phone or enjoy the 8700 as long as possible up until the 30 days are up. You just have to make sure to be really careful with the 8700 because the store won't take it back if it's got any scratches or wear on it. Just be sure to do a full return, and they will void out the purchase altogether and your plan will go back to how it was. Then you can go back and get another phone when you're ready. DO NOT do an exchange (in case the Razr2 comes out before the 30 days are up), because you're only allowed one exchange during the 30 days period and you will have to keep the 2nd phone...and what if you decide not to keep the Razr2?

I upgraded from an 8100 to the 8700 in June, and returned it on th...

I went to a Verizon store both times. My 30 days for the Samsung are up the 14th I think. So I will probably return it this weekend.

I really like this phone because of the qwerty keyboard, which makes texting so much faster. But I really like the look of the Razr 2.
