howdy...
I noticed that the display on the v9m is only 65k colors, or there abouts, and i currently have a sony ericsson k790a with 262k colors, or there abouts... now my question is, can you really tell a difference in the amount of colors? does the lower color amount look grainy or something? thanks!

I loaded the same pictures on a VX8700 (262K display) and Maxx Ve (65K display) to try and see a difference.
The pictures looked almost the same and I could not see any real color difference.
On the Maxx, you can adjust the Brightness level, and with it turned all the way up (level 6) the pictures looked better than on the VX8700.

so does the resolution make more of a difference than the number of colors? I noticed on my k790a, that the resolution is 240x320, which is the same as the v9m.. whereas a phone like the fusic has a resolution of 176x220...
thanks for the help!

The Motorola V9m will have a QVGA display. It's so much sharper than previous displays that are 262k. You're not even going to be able to tell a difference between a 262k QVGA and a 65k QVGA display. It's so subtle, it's not even worth mentioning.

However, there will be an increase in battery life going from a 262k to a 65k. The V9m is benefiting by having a 65k display over a 262k be...

Enjoy your LG and Samsung junk. I like to have a phone that works in fringe areas. For that, it's Motorola or bust. Your opinion is not noted or taken seriously.

i'll admit that i'm a noob to this site. i'll admit that you probably know more about cell phones than me. but slammyham, seriously, what's the point of you even posting anymore? all you do is bash the verizon ui. you repeatedly talk about you don't want the v9m because it's "going to be the same as every other verizon phone." well if that's the case, stick with your lg 8300 but for the love of god, post something new or don't post at all.

He does it because he feels better bringing everyone else down to his level. He's not excited about anything, so we all have to suffer so he's not alone. He has confidence issues, and he's not happy unless everyone is as miserable as he is.

He's ...

also, i think i forgot to mention this, but i'm only interested in phones that sprint has...so the info about the verizon UI, while appreciated, isn't very helpful lol...
sorry to be snarky...didn't mean to come off like that... so, basically if i'm looking at my k790a screen, i should expect the same thing from the moto, even though it has less colors?
