i had a 7130 and i couldn't get pic messages. if i wanted to see them, i had to go to vzw website. will this one allow you to view pic messages or do you still have to log on to the website. i could care less about a camera or taking pics, but alot of friends and family like to send pics. any one know the answer?

Yes.....but someone else with a camera phone cannot. Yesterday, a friend in Cali sent me a pic....if I had MMS capability I could have simply opened it on my 8703. Sadly...when I get pics I have to log in to PixPlace to view.

THAT is the question the OP was asking.....I think.

You can send them to your phones email or any other email if you have the data plan and it will come through just like it would on a computer so you don't have to logon to pix place.

i know they can be emailed, but when i get a pic message on my blackberry, it just states to go to vzwpix to get my pic message.

so with the new 8830, will it get the same message, or will i actually get the pic.

i went to the moto q for that reason. i actually love my q, but.. it just isn't the same as the blackberry. the email is soo much better on the blackberry.

thanks for the help so far! any one know about this......

Thats what I'm saying email the pics from a camera phone to username @vzw.blackberry.net and it will show up just like a regular pic on a cell phone.

Daniel - I understand what you are saying as I have the 8703 and it is annoying to have to log-in to a website each time to view a picture. It is also an inconvenience to remind anyone who might send you a picture that they have to do it via email vs. a picture message. I get your point, but apparently the others didn't. I am curious to know if the new BB will work better with picture messaging.

I use an 8830 and no, it's the same as before, you must log on to pixplace. As for sending it to an email address, yes, you can do that it's just an attachment BUT if you receive alot of pictures from family on Verizon and they have unlimited IN messaging, emailing it counts against their out of network usage.
