Here's the bottom line, I had one so I know. The Iphone is an Ipod with a phone built into it. PERIOD! The phone stinks. Period!

When you buy a cell phone you buy one for communication. To place calls and communicate. The Iphone doesn't do that very well at all, actually it's the worst phone I ever had except for an entry level Kyrocera I had years ago. All the other features are secondary such as music players, camera, internet, phone first, gadgets later.

If you want a very fancy Ipod then buy the Iphone. If you want a solid communication tool buy som...

Here's the deal, this guy IS arrogant. I'm sure he doesn't speak for VZW as a whole or they would cease to exist. BUT This is not the best selling phone in history... the RAZR is, and we all know how GREAT that phone was/is. How often do you need to replace a battery, really?
I'm a heave cell user and I never had to buy a new battery. The one they have in iPhone is good for about 2 years if you charge it daily.
Also this person have no idea how data on iPhone is stored - all data on iPhone including music, videos, podcasts, contacts, photos and more is daily synchronized with your PC or Mac.
You will not loose that data even if you loose your iPhone and get a new one.

Amongst other things that have been said, the articles point out that not only is Verizon Wireless currently focussing on trying to resolve every concern the first time someone calls (which wouldn't be possible with Apple and Steve Jobs requiring Apple technical support to handle troubleshooting and activation), but in addition Steve Jobs wanted a portion of the monthly service access that Verizon charges to go to Apple, and wanted controlled distribution of the IPhone just like they have done with ATNT. In essence the limiting of availability to an APPLE store or a direct Verizon Wireless store would limit availability to the areas that have them. That's probably true. Verizon was consistently net adding more customers each quarter than ATT, and Verizon has much better customer loyalty (churn rate) than ATT. ATT looked like they were going to lose the #1 spot, prolly within a year.

So yeah, they had a lot of incentive to get the iPhone. And to buy 1.7 million customers by buying Dobson. But hey, that is the way the game is played. Ya can't hate ATT for doing the deals they needed to do.

The reason ATT has more customers is because of the customers aquired from other cell phone companies that ATT bought, not by signing them up. ATT had a very small customer base until they bought Cingular, it was that aquisition that gave them the customer base that they now have.


I think it's time us adults start checking out what they are teaching kids in High School. apparently not much.

Ive seen the phone, while not as innovative in style as the Iphone, the thing has killer apps and every item that is missing on the Iphone this particular unit has. The WIFI on it is awesome. The one drawback, I have no clue when VZW is going to release it. While I have no ties to VZW or any provider for that matter, Iam in the business hence the screen name, it takes a lot to impress me. My one mantra and concern in this business is, communication and a cell phone is a telephone (or more technical a radio phone) My single concern with any cell is the phone.
