Hello. I don't own this phone, but what I can tell you is what I have heard from some of the other Samsung Sync users. You cannot turn the shutter sound off. Other users on here have looked all over on the phone to try and do that but it won't work. I don't know if you can turn the keypad tones off. I imagine that you could. Any Samsung Sync user can correct me on this if I'm mistaken. As far as connecting the USB cable to your computer and transferring songs, I do not see why there would be a problem.

Uhm, I beg to differ with you. I don't have a shutter sound on my Sync anymore. And I can reboot it (power it on and off) and the shutter sound stays off. All you need is a USB cable and the bitpim program. I can try to find the instruction for you if you like.

Please provide instructions, [or link] as i have not been able to turn off the shutter sound effects, and the option of it only lasting until "reboot" is not that good.
If you use some "program" tho, is there any other problems? warranty issues?
Thanks!

Go to:

and read. This thread will explain how to get access to the file system of the Sync. Once you do that, the file you need to edit resides in the /Registry/CamSetting.ini file. Change the ShutterSound parameter to 255 (the phone can only set it to 1, 2 or 3). Be sure to save it using the Unix text file format (line feed after every line) and NOT the usual Windows text file format (carriage return + line feed after every line.) Once saved back to the phone, the camera click is gone (until you select one of the 3 available on the phone which will overwrie this setting.)
