OS X to Pearl
I am able to send files via bluetooth from my pearl to my mac book pro just fine. However i cannot send a file from my mac book pro to my pearl. OS X says that my BB doesn't have the necessary services. Doesn't the pearl have OBEX? Any ideas?

Forget it. I got it. Thanks!

Can you explain how you did it to me? I have the same problem transferring a file from my MacBook Pro to the Pearl?
Thanks

Make sure you are all paired up with your phone and mac.
On your 8100 go to your Media and choose pictures, music, ringtones, or video. Hit the button(to the left of the pearl) and choose "Recieve Using Bluetooth"
Then on your Mac go to the Bluetooth transfer app and send a file to your blackberry.
Let me know if this isn't clear.

Are you doing "Send file" or "browse device" on your Mac?

i am getting an 'internal error' when i try to transfer files from my mac to my bb pearl, any help?

also when trying to transfer contacts from my mac to the bb, it says 'device does not have the necessary services'

It's tricky. 😉
Assuming you've already paired...
1) Go into your "Media" application.
2) Click the "Option" button and choose to receive files via Bluetooth.
3) Open up "Set up Bluetooth device" (yes, I know you've already done this).
4) Go through the normal pairing process, except that now we're doing it while file transfers are enabled. 😁
5) Choose to send a file. It should begin sending to your phone, as long as it's still in receive mode.
6) Your Mac will reply with an "incomplete" error, but your phone received the data just fine.

i still get an message stayin the transfer failed on both phone and mac. please help.

Yeah, I've been getting that too. The only one that worked was a 35 second clip, not full songs. I did the recieve/pair/send thing, it said "incomplete", but the file showed up in my phone. In the BB it shows as 0.00 Mb, but still plays normal. I'm assuming there might be a limit to the OBEX file sizes...all other files give an error, even pics
